TOWN OF UNION – NOTICE OF REPUBLICAN PRIMARY Notice is hereby given that a Primary of the Republican Party will be held in the Town of Union on August 13, 2024, for nomination to United State Senator, together with the street address of said candidate.  The party-endorsed candidate is indicated by an asterisk.  Additionally, the following are the names of all other candidates who have filed their certificates of eligibility and consent to primary or have satisfied the primary petitioning requirements in conformity with the General Statutes as candidates for nomination to United States Senator, together with the street addresses [...]

TOWN OF UNION CONNECTICUT

Union was the last town to be settled east of the Connecticut River, largely because of its rough terrain and poor soil. In 1633, John Oldham, an adventurer from Massachusetts, obtained specimens of black lead or graphite from the Indians. During the Revolutionary War Governor Trumbull tapped this valuable resource for use at cannon foundries. On July 1, 1720 the General Assembly sold 12,500 acres to 12 proprietors for 307 pounds, comprising the area that is now Union.
