Selectmen’s Meeting Minutes              

December 19, 2016                

Union, Connecticut

 

First Selectman Goodhall called the meeting to order at 7:39 p.m.

 

Attending:  Selectmen – Albert L. Goodhall, Jr., David Heck; Joseph Kratochvil; David Eaton, Public Works Director

 

Minutes from the last meeting were read. Selectman Kratochvil moved to accept the minutes as read; seconded by Selectman Heck. Vote was unanimous.

 

Bills were presented for review.  Selectman Heck made the motion to pay the bills as presented; motion was seconded by Selectman Kratochvil.  Vote was unanimous.

 

First Selectman Goodhall made a motion to pay the Probate Court Cost Allocation to the North Central Probate District, in the amount of $2,214.00, out of Probate Expense Account 1110-213; motion was seconded by Selectman Heck. Vote was unanimous.

 

This bill is for probate fees effective in the 2010-2011 FY through the 2015-2016 FY, representing 5 ½ years of un-invoiced payments. There is $1,000 budgeted for the 2016-17 FY in this expense account. The payment will be over budget in the amount of $1,214. The FY 2016-2017 has not been invoiced.

 

The Board discussed the furnace replacement estimate of $2,198.00 for the dog pound from High Grade Gas Service. Selectman Heck made a motion to take $1,099 out of Heating Expense Account 3110-213 and $1,099 out of Building Maintenance Expense Account 3110-400, to cover this cost. Motion was seconded by Selectman Kratochvil. Vote was unanimous.

 

The Board reviewed and approved a proposal from JGB Services for further repairs to the Union Free Public Library, continuing work on the LoCIP Project renovations.

 

Public Works Director Eaton presented the proposed Public Works 2017-18 Budget.

 

Motion to adjourn at 8:20 p.m. by Selectman HeckHeck; seconded by Selectman Kratochvil.   Vote was unanimous.
