BOARD OF FINANCE REGULAR MEETING – April 18, 2017

 

The meeting was called to order by Board of Finance Chair Christopher Santucci at 7:05 pm. Members present:  Christopher Santucci, Dennis Sienna, Tim Vennart., and Scott Crevier.

 

The minutes from the April 4, 2017 regular meeting were reviewed. A motion was made by Dennis Sienna to approve the minutes as read. Tim Vennart seconded the motion. The motion was carried. 

 

Board of Education Chair Andrea Estell and School Superintendent Joe Reardon spoke to the members concerning an expected surplus in the board of education budget for fiscal year 2016-17, and an unexpected grant received for $24,000 and it use.

 

A letter from the Board of Selectmen was reviewed concerning the need for repairs to the library building roof. A motion was made by Chris Santucci to approve the use of $15,000 in Operating Contingency Funds to repair the library building roof. Tim Vennart seconded the motion. The motion was carried.

 

The members discussed the proposed budgets for fiscal year 2017-18, including the Tax Collector report dated April 18, 2017. Town Tax Collector Maureen Eaton and Highway Foreman Dave Eaton provided input on the proposed budget. Also discussed was the presentation of the budget for the public hearing. The public hearing is set for May 2, 2017.

 

Dennis Sienna made a motion to adjourn at 9:15 pm. Tim Vennart seconded the motion. The motion was carried.
