Selectmen’s Meeting                       July 3, 2017                           Union, Connecticut

 

 

First Selectman Eaton called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

 

Attending:  Selectmen – David D. Eaton., Mary E. Huda, David Heck

 

Minutes from the last meeting were read. Selectman Heck moved to accept the minutes as read; seconded by Selectman Huda. Vote was unanimous.

 

Bills were presented for review.  Selectman Heck made the motion to pay the bills as presented; seconded by Selectman Huda.  Vote was unanimous.

 

Following review of the Town Appointments for July , 2017 – June 30, 2019, Selectman Heck made the motion to reaffirm said Appointments, with the following positions removed: Conservation Officer, Handicapped Access Committee, and Joseph Kratochvil as alternate for representative to NDDH and Mid-NEROC, the Commission on Aging and Conservation Commission; motion was seconded by First Selectman Eaton. Vote was 2 in favor; 1 abstention.  See 2017-2019 Appointments Attached

 

First Selectman Eaton reported on the Old Home Day schedule and plans.

 

The observed Town employee holiday schedule was discussed. Federal holidays for 2017-2018 were reviewed. It was determined that prior to January 1 of each year, the Board of Selectmen will determine the observed holidays for that subsequent calendar year.

 

The library slate roof repair is in process. In the fall, tree branches overhanging the roof will be trimmed.

 

The Board reviewed the State 2017-2018 budget regarding state aid, as projected to this point.

 

The Community Room refrigerator, purchased 18 years ago, is malfunctioning again. Selectman Heck made the motion to purchase a new refrigerator; seconded by Selectman Huda. Vote was unanimous.

 

Motion to adjourn at 8:44 p.m. by Selectman Huda; seconded by Selectman Heck.  Vote was unanimous.
