Selectmen’s Meeting                       September 18, 2017                      Union, Connecticut

 

 

 

First Selectman Eaton called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

 

Attending:  Selectmen – David D. Eaton., Mary E. Huda

 

Minutes from the last meeting were read. Selectman Huda moved to accept the minutes as read; seconded by First Selectman Eaton. Vote was unanimous.

 

Bills were presented for review.  Selectman Huda made the motion to pay the bills as presented; seconded by First Selectman Eaton.  Vote was unanimous.

 

Following discussion regarding security cameras at the Town Hall entrances, Selectman Huda made a motion to move forward with the purchase and installation of security cameras at the four town hall entrances; seconded by First Selectman Eaton. Vote was unanimous.

 

First Selectman Eaton met with a contractor regarding the sidewalk from the side entrance of the Town Hall to the pavement in the front parking lot.

 

The Department of Housing Community Development Block Grant program is offering a grant for crumbling foundation testing of homes. If the Town is going to apply for this grant, a letter of intent must be submitted by September 30, 2017. Selectman Huda made a motion to submit the letter of intent for the DOH Foundation Testing Grant Monies; seconded by First Selectman Eaton. Vote was unanimous.

 

The review of the Town Employment Application form was suspended, to be conducted when Selectman Heck returns.

 

The State 2017-2018 Budget was discussed.

 

Motion to adjourn at 8:35 p.m. by Selectman Huda; seconded by First Selectman Eaton.  Vote was unanimous.
