Selectmen’s Meeting                       October 2, 2017                              Union, Connecticut

 

 

 

First Selectman Eaton called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

 

Attending:  Selectmen – David D. Eaton., Mary E. Huda

 

Minutes from the last meeting were read. Selectman Huda moved to accept the minutes as read; seconded by First Selectman Eaton. Vote was unanimous.

 

Bills were presented for review.  Selectman Huda made the motion to pay the bills as presented; seconded by First Selectman Eaton.  Vote was unanimous.

 

The plan for re-keying the Town Hall building and distribution of keys was discussed.

 

The Board reviewed and discussed a quote for the sidewalk repair at the Town Hall building. Following discussion, Selectman Huda made a motion to accept the quote from A+A Asphalt in the amount of $1,000, to be paid from the Special Reserve Fund, for the sidewalk repair; seconded by First Selectman Eaton. Vote was unanimous.

 

The letter of intent to participate in the Department of Housing Grant to assist with testing of foundations was signed and posted. There was discussion of the Town’s application for this grant. Selectman Huda made a motion to enter into the multi-town agreement for the Department of Housing Grant for crumbling foundation monies; seconded by First Selectman Eaton. Vote was unanimous.

 

The Board will be attending the Public Hearing to be held on October 16 at 7:00 p.m. in Coventry. The time of the Selectmen’s Meeting will be moved up to 6:00 p.m. to accommodate the Board’s attendance at this hearing.

 

Motion to adjourn at 8:40 p.m. by Selectman Huda; seconded by First Selectman Eaton.  Vote was unanimous.
