Selectmen’s Meeting December 18, 2017 Union, Connecticut
First Selectman Eaton called the meeting to order at 7: 30 p.m.
Attending: Selectmen – David D. Eaton, Mary Huda
Persons to be heard: Democratic Registrar of Voters, Joshua Lambert, and SystemSolutions Proprietor Christopher Nelson, discussed the computer system for the Registrar of Voters, and update to the Town Hall system to better accommodate the needs of the Registrar’s office. The Board approved the installation of a new router on January 3, 2018 by Mr. Nelson, cost to be covered by the Registrar of Voter’s expense account.
Bills were presented for review. Selectman Huda made the motion to pay the bills as presented; seconded by First Selectman Eaton. Vote was unanimous.
Following discussion, Selectman Huda made a motion to approve the following resolution:
RESOLVED, that the Town of Union may enter into with and deliver to the State of Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security any and all documents which it deems to be necessary or appropriate; and
FURTHER RESOLVED, that David D. Eaton, as First Selectman of the Town of Union, is authorized and directed to execute and deliver any and all documents on behalf of the the Town of Union and to do and perform all acts and things which he/she deems to be necessary or appropriate to carry out the terms of such documents, including, but not limited to, executing and delivering all agreements and documents contemplated by such documents.
The motion was seconded by First Selectman Eaton. Vote was unanimous.
The possibility of enacting a policy regarding contribution to medical insurance for eligible town employees was discussed, and tabled for further review.
The Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund was reviewed and discussed.
The Norcross Wildlife Foundation has made a $2,500 unrestricted municipal gift to the Town of Union. Selectman Huda made a motion to designate the funds for Town Grove improvements, and to deposit said funds into the Town’s Capital Projects Account for disbursement for costs incurred for those improvements.
The 2018-2019 Selectmen’s Budget was reviewed and edited.
Motion to adjourn at 9:05 p.m. by Selectman Huda; seconded by First Selectman Eaton. Vote was unanimous.
