Selectmen’s Meeting                       March 19, 2018                               Union, Connecticut

 

First Selectman Eaton called the meeting to order at 7: 30 p.m.

 

Attending:  Selectmen – David D. Eaton, Mary Huda, Animal Control Officer, Belinda Vennart, Town Treasurer, Amanda Gaug

 

Minutes from the March 5, 2018 meeting were read. Selectman Huda made a motion to accept the minutes as read; seconded by First Selectman Eaton. Vote was unanimous.

 

Bills were presented for review.  Selectman Huda made the motion to pay the bills as presented; seconded by First Selectman Eaton.  Vote was unanimous.

 

Correspondence: Card from Town Resident

 

Animal Control Officer Belinda Vennart reported that the dog that has been in the town pound was placed in a home as of March 17, 2018. Town Policies regarding animal control were discussed. ACO Vennart will put said policies in writing to present to the Selectmen.

 

First Selectman Eaton discussed the 2018-2019 Proposed Budget submitted by the Board of Finance. He proposed some reductions to the Selectman’s Proposed 2018-2019 Budget. Selectman Huda made a motion to reduce Expense Account 3120-120, Transfer Station Salaries, by $7,000 and reduce Expense Account 3130-630, Medical Insurance, by $15,000; seconded by First Selectman Eaton. Vote was unanimous.

 

Treasurer Amanda Gaug submitted the final revision on the Town Payroll Policy. Following review, Selectman Huda made a motion to adopt the Town of Union Payroll Policy with revisions dated March 19, 2018, as presented by Treasurer Amanda Gaug; seconded by First Selectman Eaton. Vote was unanimous.

 

The LoCIP applications for the following projects have been submitted:

  1. Town Pavilion Improvements, repairing and painting floor
  2. Garage Doors for Public Works Garage
  3. Town Hall Parking Lot Improvement, re-sealing and painting lines
  4. Town Community Room Lighting Improvements

 

Motion to adjourn at 8:35 p.m. by Selectman Huda; seconded by First Selectman Eaton.  Vote was unanimous.
