Selectmen’s Meeting                       May 7, 2018                          Union, Connecticut




First Selectman Eaton called the meeting to order at 7: 30 p.m.


Attending:  Selectmen – David D. Eaton, Mary Huda, David Heck


Minutes from the April 16, 2018 meeting were read. Selectman Huda made a motion to accept the minutes as read; seconded by Selectman Heck. Vote was unanimous.


Bills were presented for review.  Selectman Heck made the motion to pay the bills as presented; seconded by Selectman Huda.  Vote was unanimous.


Correspondence:             Resident letter regarding Board of Education budget

                                                Email regarding blasting on Holland Rd

                                                OPM Grand List letter

                                                CCM email regarding legislation prohibiting the State from changing ECS funding

                                                CCROG list of assessed town property reductions due to crumbling foundations

                                                Opioid crisis letter from Venture Law Firm


Review and discussion of Budget vs. Actual expense report for April 2018.


First Selectman Eaton discussed the repair to stress cracks over internal doorways on back side of town hall. He had a Ross Solar representative in to observe and record the damage, as the cracks appeared following installation of solar panels on that side of the roof.


The Town Meeting, being held on Monday, May 14, was discussed.


Motion to adjourn at 8:12 p.m. by Selectman Heck; seconded by Selectman Huda.  Vote was unanimous.
