Selectmen’s Meeting                       June 18, 2018                       Union, Connecticut

 

 

 

 

First Selectman Eaton called the meeting to order at 7: 30 p.m.

 

Attending:  Selectmen – David D. Eaton, David Heck, Mary Huda

 

Minutes from the June 4, 2018 meeting were read. Selectman Heck made a motion to accept the minutes as read; seconded by First Selectman Eaton. 2 votes yes, 1 abstention.

 

Bills were presented for review.  Selectman Heck made the motion to pay the bills as presented; seconded by Selectman Huda.  Vote was unanimous.

 

Correspondence:             Email from resident regarding a drainage issue from town road to the resident’s                                                               driveway. Selectman Heck will follow up on this issue.

 

Following discussion regarding the wages for the town hall cleaning and maintenance staff, First Selectman Eaton made a motion to increase the hourly wage for Carl Myers and Janice Parsons by 2%, effective July 1, 2018. Motion was seconded by Selectman Heck. Vote was unanimous.

 

First Selectman Eaton presented two samples of municipal Workplace Harassment Policies to the Board. The Selectmen will review the policies and continue Town of Union Workplace Harassment Policy development at the next Selectmen’s meeting.

 

There was a brief update on the progress on plans for Old Home Day.

 

The current 2018 IRS mileage allowance was reviewed. A memo will be generated to town departments to allow for consistent mileage reimbursement amounts.

 

The Town will be participating in a Governor’s Statewide Emergency Preparedness Drill to be held on June 20, 2018.

 

Motion to adjourn at 8:25 p.m. by Selectman Huda; seconded by Selectman Heck.  Vote was unanimous.
