Selectmen’s Meeting                          November 5, 2018                       Union, Connecticut

 

 

First Selectman Eaton called the meeting to order at 7: 30 p.m.

 

Attending:  Selectmen – David D. Eaton, David Heck, Mary Huda

 

Minutes from the October 15, 2018 meeting were read. Selectman Heck made a motion to accept the minutes as read; seconded by Selectman Huda. Vote was unanimous.

 

Bills were presented for review.  Selectman Heck made the motion to pay the bills as presented; seconded by Selectman Huda.  Vote was unanimous.

 

Correspondence:  The Board reviewed and accepted letter drafted to the Town Clerk with 2019

                              Selectmen Meeting Dates.

 

First Selectman Eaton, Board of Ed. Chair Andrea Estelle and Treasurer Amanda Gaug met with the Auditors to review the 2017-18 Audit. The Board discussed the meeting and Auditor’s recommendations, particularly regarding approval of new vendors.

 

Following discussion, the Board decided not to purchase the Employee Bond for Assistant Tax Collector Timothy Vennart, as the Town is covered under the Town Crime Policy with CIRMA.

 

Crumbling Foundations latest developments were discussed. The application deadline for crumbling foundation replacement funding has been moved out, possibly to December. Captive Insurance Company will fund up to $175,000 for claims, contingent on approval and available funding.

 

First Selectman Eaton made a motion to appoint Kelly Crevier to the Old Home Day Committee, effective immediately; seconded by Selectman Heck. Vote was unanimous.

 

Motion to adjourn at 8:50 p.m. by Selectman Huda; seconded by Selectman Heck.  Vote was unanimous.
