Selectmen’s Meeting                               December 17, 2018                      Union, Connecticut

 

 

First Selectman Eaton called the meeting to order at 7: 30 p.m.

 

Attending:  Selectmen – David D. Eaton, David Heck, Mary Huda

 

Minutes from the December 3, 2018 meeting were read. Selectman Huda made a motion to accept the minutes as read; seconded by Selectman Heck. Vote was unanimous.

 

Bills were presented for review.  Selectman Heck made the motion to pay the bills as presented; seconded by Selectman Huda.  Vote was unanimous.

 

Correspondence:  A letter from The Norcross Wildlife Foundation was received, with a check in the amount of $2,500, a gift to benefit town residents. The check will be deposited into the Capital Projects Account. The Board will determine an appropriate project at a future date.

 

Access Agency sent a letter requesting funds be allocated in the 2019-2020 Town Budget in the amount of $500 to assist with services provided to town residents.

 

Town Assessor Mary Huda is continuing communication with Yale University Forest Management regarding adjustment to their payment of taxes.

 

There were no new NECCOG updates to report. First Selectman Eaton will attend a special meeting held on December 20 to discuss the NECCOG Animal Services complaints.

 

Woodstock Academy has an opening for a Union Representative to the Board of Trustees.

 

The Teachers’ contracts for 2019-2022 are now available in the Town Hall for review.

 

The Board reviewed and discussed the 2019-2020 Proposed Selectmen’s Budget.

 

Public Works Director Eaton reported that a town dump truck will need to be replaced and discussed options.

 

Motion to adjourn at 8:50 p.m. by Selectman Huda; seconded by Selectman Heck.  Vote was unanimous.
