Selectmen’s Meeting                                May 20, 2019                               Union, Connecticut

 

 

 

First Selectman Eaton called the meeting to order at 7: 35 p.m.

 

Attending:  Selectmen – David D. Eaton, David Heck, Mary Huda

 

Minutes from the May 6, 2019 meeting were read. Selectman Huda made a motion to accept the minutes as read; seconded by Selectman Heck. Vote was unanimous.

 

Bills were presented for review.  Selectman Heck made the motion to pay the bills as presented; seconded by Selectman Huda.  Vote was unanimous.

 

Correspondence: Letter from new Commander at Troop C in Tolland

 

New Business:

 

CLearCom did an assessment of the Town computer systems. The Board will make a decision on the service contract when the assessment report is received.

 

Memorial Day plans were discussed.

 

The Municipal Election held on May 6 and Town Meeting held on May 13 were discussed.

 

The Town Appointments will be approved at the first Selectmen’s Meeting in July, effective until August 15, 2019. A new vote will be taken at the first August meeting, with an effective period of two years.

 

Following discussion, Selectman Heck made a motion to accept the quote of $800.00 from Peter Tucker to paint the stairwell in the Town Hall; seconded by Selectman Huda. Vote was unanimous.

 

Banner Water will be working on the Town Hall water system to replace the pressure switch.

 

Following review and discussion of revisions to the Health Insurance and Vacation Policies for full time employees, Selectman Heck made a motion to adopt the proposed policy changes to the Health Insurance and Vacation Policies; motion was seconded by Selectman Huda. Motion passed with 2 votes in favor; 1 abstention.

 

Motion to adjourn at 8:15 p.m. by Selectman Heck; seconded by Selectman Huda.  Vote was unanimous.
