Selectmen's Meeting March 7, 2016 Union, Connecticut
First Selectman Goodhall called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
Attending: Selectmen - Albert L. Goodhall, Jr., Joseph Kratochvil, David Heck; David Eaton, Director of Public Works; Amanda Gaug, Treasurer
Cemetery Committee: Jeffrey Anthony, Heidi Bradrick, Michael Huda, Robert Tyler, Sr.
Minutes from the last meeting were read. Selectman Kratochvil moved to accept the minutes as read; seconded by Selectman Heck. Vote was unanimous.
Bills were presented for review. Selectman Heck made the motion to pay the bills as presented; seconded by Selectman Kratochvil. Vote was unanimous.
Following discussion regarding Town Policy on Perpetual Care Funds and Eastern Cemetery, First Selectman Goodhall made a motion to combine the two perpetual care accounts that exist, the Eastern Cemetery Account in the amount of $9,793.86 and Union Cemetery Fund Account, in the amount of $54,952.03, merged into one Union Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund, in the total amount of $64,745.89.
The motion was seconded by Selectman Kratochvil. Vote was unanimous.
There was further discussion of plot ‘sales' back to the Town, where plot owners are compensated based on original amounts paid. The Cemetery Bylaws will be updated by the Cemetery Committee.
A Town Public Forum will be held by the Board of Selectmen on Wednesday, March 23, to discuss with residents the issue of crumbling concrete foundations.
Motion to adjourn at 9:25 p.m. by Selectman Kratochvil; seconded by Selectman Heck. Vote was unanimous.
