Selectmen’s Meeting                                     December 2, 2019                        Union, Connecticut

 

 First Selectman Eaton called the meeting to order at 7: 30 p.m.

 

Attending:  Selectmen – David D. Eaton, David Heck, Mary Huda

 

Persons to be Heard:  None

 

Minutes from the November 4, 2019 meeting were read. Selectman Huda made a motion to accept the minutes as read; seconded by First Selectman Eaton. 2 Votes Yes, 1 Abstention.

 

Minutes from the November 18, 2019 meeting were read. Selectman Heck made a motion to accept the minutes as read; seconded by First Selectman Eaton. 2 Votes Yes, 1 Abstention.

 

Bills were presented for review.  Selectman Heck made the motion to pay the bills as presented; seconded by Selectman Huda.  Vote was unanimous.

           

Correspondence:  

            The Board discussed the request to join the Tolland Chamber of Commerce. This opportunity      will be presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission.

 

New Business:

 

Following discussion, the Board approved transfer of the drug and alcohol testing program for Public Works employees from Foley Services to the CCM (Connecticut Conference of Municipalities) Drug and Alcohol Consortium, effective January 1, 2020.

 

The request for residents of Union to join the Census Committee will be posted on the Town facebook page and website.

 

The Board discussed the required Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, required for all Town employees by October 2020.

 

Old Business:

 

The Selectmen’s Proposed 2020-2021 Budget was reviewed and discussed.

 

Motion to adjourn at 8:35 p.m. by Selectman Heck; seconded by Selectman Huda. Vote was unanimous.
