Selectmen’s Meeting                           April 19, 2021                      Union, Connecticut

 

 

First Selectman Eaton called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

 

Attending:  Selectmen – David D. Eaton, David Heck

 

Persons to be Heard:  None

 

Minutes from the April 5, 2021 meeting were read. Selectman Heck made a motion to accept the minutes as presented; seconded by First Selectman Eaton. Vote was unanimous.

 

Bills were presented for review.  First Selectman Eaton made the motion to pay the bills as presented. Motion seconded by Selectman Heck.  Vote was unanimous.

New Business:   

 

Discussion of a letter from the Northeast District Department of Health (NDDH) regarding the increase in per Capita rate for member municipalities.

 

The school gazebo was discussed. It should be reserved for an event through the school or Selectman’s Office.

 

Covid-19 restrictions on businesses and outdoor gatherings are scheduled to be lifted per State guidelines on May 19. The Board approved Old Home Day to be held in August, 2021.

 

Memorial Day is on schedule as usual. The National Guard will offer Color Guard support. Plans are in process.

 

Public Works purchased a used road sweeper to replace the current one.  

 

 

Old Business: 

 

Budget hearing Tuesday night, April 2021, in person and virtually.

 

The annual Town Meeting will be held in person on May 10, 2021.

 

 

Motion to adjourn at 7:55 p.m. by First Selectman Eaton; seconded by Selectman Heck. Vote was unanimous.
