The April 20, 2022 meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by M. Silbermann.
Minutes from 4/6/2022 were reviewed and approved.
Richard Gottier attended the meeting with an application to put 3 sheds on his property at 5 Town Hall Rd. Two of these sheds are run in sheds sized 10 X 12 which will be movable and one is a permanent shed sized 6 X 8. The plot plan was reviewed for location of all 3. L. Fitzgerald made a motion to approve, seconded by b. Kapplan. All in favor, motion carried. Permit #22002 issued. $80.00 fee paid.
Julie Solomon attended the meeting with an application to replace an existing deck around her pool located at 23 Cemetery Rd. This will be 10 X 12 X 2 which is slightly larger than current deck. The plot plan was reviewed. B. Lambert made a motion to approve as submitted, seconded by B. Kapplan. All were in favor, motion carried. Permit #22003 issued. $85.00 fee paid.
David Forkey attended the meeting with an application to repair, upgrade and increase in size an existing cottage on property located at 21-7 Howard Rd. The existing septic system will not be changed. There will be 336 sq ft of new living space. The commission reviewed the plot plan submitted. M. Silbermann informed Mr. Forkey that an ‘as built’ will be needed at the completion of this project prior to a CO being issued. B. Lambert made a motion to approve, seconded by B. Kapplan. All were in favor, motion carried. Permit #22004 issued. $85.00 fee paid.
The commission discussed the zoning compliance issues related to 1 Mashapaug Rd. David Bell’s property and the Cabin located there. When he first obtained these cabins the commission was informed that they were there temporarily as he was selling them. They are now being advertised for AirBNB rental’s with no sanitary facilities. This will be discussed further.
M. Silbermann has been in contact with Mr. Peterson regarding Gibson/Williams lot changes. Mrs. Gibson has 11 acres of land and will be selling approx. 3 acres to Mr. Williams. M. Silbermann discussed this with C. Gibson also.
The Town of Union has an ordinance that “any map pertaining to division or reconfiguration of existing property line(s) must contain a Signature of Review by an authorized representative of the Town of Union Planning & Zoning and Wetland Commission …”
J. Popovitch made a motion to adjourn, seconded by B. Lambert. Meeting adjourned at 8:54 pm.
