Selectmen’s Meeting                       November 20, 2017                       Union, Connecticut



First Selectman Eaton called the meeting to order at 7: 30 p.m.


Attending:  Selectmen – David D. Eaton, David M. Heck, Mary E. Huda


Correspondence reviewed and discussed: resident letter regarding intersection at Stickney Hill and Webster Road.


Minutes from the last meeting were read. Selectman Huda moved to accept the minutes as read; seconded by Selectman Heck. Vote was unanimous.


Bills were presented for review.  Selectman Heck made the motion to pay the bills as presented; seconded by Selectman Huda.  Vote was unanimous.


The Fire Department is filing an application for an Emergency Management Performance Grant. Following brief discussion, Selectman Heck made the motion to approve the following Resolution:


RESOLVED, that the Town of Union may enter into with and deliver to the State of Connecticut Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection any and all documents which it deems to be necessary or appropriate; and

FURTHER RESOLVED, that David D. Eaton, as First Selectman of the Town of Union, is authorized and directed to execute and deliver any and all documents on behalf of the Board of Selectmen of the Town of Union and to do and perform all acts and things which he deems to be necessary or appropriate to carry out the terms of such documents, including, but not limited to, executing and delivering all agreements and documents contemplated by such documents.


The motion was seconded by Selectman Huda. Vote was unanimous.


The Board is looking for alternate representatives to the NDDH and Mid-NEROC committees.


The 2016-2017 Town Report for the Selectman’s Office was reviewed and approved.


The sidewalk at the Town Hall side door will be completed November 29-30, 2017.


The Board continued review and revisions on the Selectman’s 2018-2019 Budget.


 Motion to adjourn at 8:35 p.m. by Selectman Heck; seconded by Selectman Huda.  Vote was unanimous.
